Wooden Mushrooms
The wooden mushrooms or toadstools that Phil makes are individually hand-turned and polished from Laburnum or Yew both of which have wonderful grain and colours within the timber.No two mushrooms are alike as the grain,colours, and variations of design. Each mushroom is turned as an individual turning and the size and shape adapted to suit the piece of branch timber including cracks and knots. Branch timber is used so that the striking colours between the heartwood and the sap is evident. The irregular shape also enhances the mushroom’s natural appearance. The wooden mushrooms make an ideal unique gift in a cluster of three or five or to treat yourself. The approximate size of the mushrooms is approximately 2″ tall for the smaller mushrooms and for 2 1/2″-3″ tall for the larger mushrooms. Phil is happy to supply craft shops & gifts with craft turnings.
